Catalog description
This course aims to contextualize graphic design and graphic designers shaping both the field's theoretical and practical dimensions. Class discussions and readings will reflect on current developments, themes, and debates involving the influence of ongoing advancements in media technology. They will also focus on diverse critical frameworks with which to understand the state of design and the evolving role of the graphic designer. Throughout the semester, students will gain multiple perspectives on the practice through an array of graphic design guest speakers.
