Catalog description
In this course students study the fundamental principles, practices, and vocabulary common to two foundational dance techniques, West African and Ballet, and two contemporary techniques derived from these forms, Modern Contemporary and Hip Hop. Students also study improvisation as an inherent aspect of contemporary physical practice. Classes consist of technical exercises, creative practice, and essential information to optimize students' experiences as Dance Majors and Minors. Dance Foundations I is a prerequisite for Dance Foundations II.
