Catalog description
This graduate-level course offers directors an introduction to the art of casting for film and television productions. Students will examine the critical role casting plays in shaping character, narrative, and audience engagement. Topics may include script analysis for casting, director / casting director relationships, contracts and work agreements, diversity concerns, and sensitive casting situations involving intimacy and consent. Students will use these skills in casting their television projects and thesis films.
