Catalog description

Building on the concepts introduced in Production Design1 this course emphasizes the design and fabrication skills necessary to communicate the plans for safely constructing film sets and basic props for both stage and location work. Students will collaborate on in-class projects, transforming sketches and concept art into working drawings, and the uses of common construction materials as they relate to set construction and location modifications. Students will create working drawings from given concept art and reference materials, and identify viable techniques and materials necessary to fabricate basic set pieces
