Catalog description

Students in this course will focus on two key roles in technical sound for theatrical productions: designing and customizing sound systems according to production needs, and providing live sound reinforcement for musical and non-musical productions. Students will learn the process of designing and creating a sound plot, including considerations such as balancing creative and technical license with pragmatic constraints (e.g. space, financial, and house-system limitations, for example). Students will also learn techniques and practices involved in mic'ing and mixing musical and non-musical productions.
