Catalog description

"This course provides students with foundations for working in various capacities as an audio professional. It acts as a springboard to various career paths by focusing on general recording skills and industry understanding, as well as key concepts that are broadly applicable including microphone recording methods for different use cases, organization and tools for editing, mixing, and exporting in a DAW, digital asset management, and various career path expectations. Instruction focuses on both lecture and hands-on projects. Students participate in a series of projects both in class and as homework that simulate various career paths in the audio field. Students work together to complete projects with an emphasis on the repetition, iteration, and understanding of proper techniques and roles. In addition, students participate in a series of technical exercises to develop, practice, and refine listening, evaluation, and judgment abilities."
