Catalog description

This course immerses students in the language, theories, and technical knowledge common to all fields in which audio is used. The course focuses on becoming adept with the electro-acoustic chain, with analog and digital audio signals, signal analysis and processing (frequency, amplitude and time-based), and basic audio systems (transducers, amplifiers, mixers). To contextualize these theoretical aspects, students are introduced to equipment and real-world scenarios where professional audio systems are used from a technical and functional point of view. Students will learn from readings, watching and analyzing materials from external sources, class demonstrations, group exercises, and lectures.
