Catalog description
This course will provide students with an understanding of the key concepts of positive psychology and how they can be applied to their own lives. It will introduce theories and research findings in the areas of well-being, positive emotions, human strengths, goal setting, creativity, wisdom, fulfilling relationships, and optimism. Considerable emphasis will be given to the practice of mindfulness and its interplay with positive psychology. Students will be asked to research and design interventions that can be used to promote positive psychology on personal, system, and institutional levels. Prerequisite(s): PSYC 101 .
