Catalog description

This course introduces the professional nurse to the fundamental principles of leadership and management in health care and nursing. Students will explore the interrelated processes of thinking systematically, developing reflective judgment and exercising leadership. Competencies necessary to succeed in a nursing leadership role in organizations and contemporary society are analyzed and applied to clinical scenarios. Students utilize self-reflection to assess their own leadership potential. Thirty clinical hours required in a clinical setting. This is the capstone course to be taken only after all other degree requirements have been met. Prerequisite(s): Admission to the Online RN to BSN Level Nursing program; NURS 410 , and NURS 411 .
