Catalog description

This course introduces the registered nurse to community assessment in nursing. This course requires the student to define a community in which they will observe, assess, analyze and prioritize needs and goals which promote health. Students will use the community assessment data to develop, implement and evaluate a problem focused intervention program in the community. The student will define the community and obtain instructor approval of the project. This course is research-based. This course requires significant writing. Thirty clinical hours required in a clinical setting.
