Catalog description
This skills lab course provides students with hands-on practice in performing comprehensive health assessments across the lifespan. Through guided instruction and assessment mastery check-offs, students will develop proficiency in physical examination techniques, data collection, and documentation. Emphasis is placed on integrating assessment findings with knowledge of developmental stages, nutritional status, cultural and spiritual considerations, and disease processes. Students will apply the nursing process to enhance clinical reasoning and decision-making, with a focus on identifying health promotion opportunities and implementing primary and secondary prevention strategies. This lab supports the development of foundational skills essential for safe, effective, and holistic nursing care. Prerequisite(s): Admission to the Bachelor Level Nursing program; Corequisites(s): NURS 300 , NURS 300L , NURS 314 .
