Catalog description

This course is designed to provide the foundation for the role of the registered professional nurse as a provider of patient-centered care. Content includes the fundamental concepts of nursing practice. A systematic framework for decision-making and critical thinking. Nursing as a profession, nursing standards and legal-ethical issues in nursing are explored. Foundational communication principles, nutrition and patient teaching continues to be discussed. Critical thinking skills and evidence-based practice concepts are applied to multiple nursing situations. Prerequisite(s): Admission to the Associate or the Bachelor Level Nursing program. Corequisite(s): NURS 300L .
