Catalog description
An introduction to the fundamental principles and techniques used by actuaries in the insurance and financial industries; actuarial mathematics equations useful in Actuarial modeling; and the principles of rate making and reserving for short-term coverage. This course prepares students for the Society of Actuaries exam FAM-S (Fundamentals of Actuarial Mathematics - Part I). Prerequisite(s): MATH 338 and MATH 340 with a grade of C or higher.
