This practice-oriented course prepares students to assess and intervene effectively at the entry level of helping professions. Students will explore foundational theories of human behavior and change while developing practical skills through extensive hands-on learning. The course emphasizes skill development through role-play exercises, simulated client interactions, and supervised practice opportunities. Students will learn basic assessment techniques and intervention strategies appropriate for entry-level positions in human services, while building a strong foundation for future graduate-level study. Class sessions integrate theoretical knowledge with experiential learning, ensuring students gain confidence in applying helping methods in real-world contexts.
