Introduction to Trauma Informed Care

Catalog description

This course provides an overview of trauma and its impacts across the lifespan. Students will learn about different types of trauma, neurobiological effects, risk and protective factors, and evidence-based treatment approaches. The course will cover developmental, sociocultural, and legal/ethical considerations in trauma work. An emphasis is placed on developing trauma-informed care principles applicable across disciplines.
