An introduction to how storytellers, poets, and dramatists give shape to human experience. Students read diverse literary works from multiple cultures and time periods and explore how these texts express identity, community, emotion, and the challenges of being human. Emphasis is placed on attentive reading, discussion, and understanding the variety of human voices represented in literature.
