Teaching Middle and Secondary Social Studies

Catalog description

The study of middle school and secondary social studies methods, materials, ”best practices,” philosophies, instruction and curriculum. The course culminates with students demonstrating the abilities to plan, present and evaluate instructional experiences. Includes field experience of 15 hours. This course is part of a program that leads to Missouri certification. Students who do not live in Missouri will be required to sign an attestation that they will complete their field experiences and student teaching in Missouri and will work in Missouri upon graduation.
