Catalog description

An exploration of principles, methods, and materials for teaching young children math and science concepts through discovery and play. Emphasis is on research-based and developmentally appropriate practices for teaching infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and primary children. Includes the teaching of exceptional children mainstreamed in classrooms, the use of technology to teach math and science, and assessment of learning. Includes field experience of 15 hours. This course is part of a program that leads to Missouri certification. Students who do not live in Missouri will be required to sign an attestation that they will complete their field experiences and student teaching in Missouri and will work in Missouri upon graduation.
