Catalog description

Explores disaster mitigation and preparedness as part of the disaster cycle. Students analyze the concepts of vulnerability and risk, including how disasters exacerbate pre-existing inequalities. Through the use of case studies, students will develop skills to eliminate or reduce the long-term risk to life, property, and the environment posed by natural and human-induced disasters. Prerequisite: EMER 200.
