Catalog description
Students, under the guidance of college supervisors and qualified classroom teachers, assume the duties and responsibilities of public school teachers including planning, presenting and evaluation of instruction and related responsibilities (16 weeks). Grade of B or higher required for certification. Student teachers must attend the required teaching seminars held at the college during the student teaching semester. Students must achieve a passing score on the Missouri Education Evaluation System in order to pass course. This course is part of a program that leads to Missouri certification. Students who do not live in Missouri will be required to sign an attestation that they will complete their field experiences and student teaching in Missouri and will work in Missouri upon graduation. Prerequisites: Senior standing; admission to the Teacher Certification Program; completion of all coursework and specifications listed on the Student Teaching Requirement Verification form (in the catalog).
