CONTENT READING AND WRITING

Catalog description
The study of teaching reading and writing in differing content areas. Students analyze materials in various content areas and demonstrate the ability to use levels of comprehension, patterns of organization and questioning, and vocabulary-building skills to enhance learning. Includes field experience of 15 hours. This course is part of a program that leads to Missouri certification. Students who do not live in Missouri will be required to sign an attestation that they will complete their field experiences and student teaching in Missouri and will work in Missouri upon graduation. Prerequisites: ENGL 133W; EDUC 300 or EDUC 505 and admission to the Teacher Certification Program.
