Catalog description

Throughout HRM550, students will explore how to interact with a unionized workforce successfully. Information about the history of unions, labor regulations, and the prevalence of unionization in today’s workplace environment will be addressed. Students will learn how employment practices are similar and different when interacting with a unionized versus non-unionized workforce. Dispute and conflict resolution techniques will be discussed, including grievances, mediation, and arbitration.
