Catalog description

Students will be introduced to the core concepts of microbiology in this course, including microbial identification, physiology, genetics, and ecology. The interactions between microbes and humans are emphasized by discussion of infectious diseases, immunology, epidemiology, and biotechnology. You will learn the fundamentals of microbiology lab techniques by conducting virtual experiments. This course fulfills a General Education Physical and Natural Science lecture and laboratory requirement. This course fulfills the microbiology-for-nursing requirement. This is an approved Colorado gtPathways course (GT-SC1).
