Catalog description
This course provides a comprehensive study of accounting principles related to the measurement and valuation of assets and current liabilities on the balance sheet. A key focus will be on the codification of accounting standards for GAAP and IFRS, with an introduction to applying these standards. Students will be introduced to how automation, business intelligence, and data analytics are used in financial reporting through data interpretation and financial statement analysis. Students will analyze real-world scenarios, compare GAAP and IFRS standards, assess their impact on financial statements, communicate findings, and collaborate on solutions for a team-based environment. Recommended Prior Course: ACT300
