Catalog description
Philosophical implications of newly-existing and near-future technology. More concretely, we’re going to discuss several technological advancements that humans recently have made or are on the cusp of making, and the philosophical issues that are raised by those technologies. We’re interested in developing a philosophical understanding and critique of things like: machine-learning apps, brain-computer interfaces, social robots, automated weapons systems, biometric tracking technologies, and much more. Approved for LAS Oral Communication requirement. GT-AH3.
