Catalog description

This course introduces students to emerging, innovative, and cutting-edge technology in the public sector. Emphasis topics include ethical considerations in the use of technology, applications and risks of artificial intelligence (AI), cybersecurity, blockchain technology use in the public sector, internet of things, mapping and visualization, and data warehousing. The topics will be discussed across concepts including issues and practices, sustainable technology, and the social implications of technology. Students will be expected to utilize and apply innovative software and technology, while analyzing concepts from practice and literature.
