Catalog description
This course examines the data security and privacy laws and regulations that govern the collection, use, storage, and destruction of sensitive information. An understanding of these laws can help a cybersecurity expert understand how organizations can implement a program that will minimize legal and business risks. Students enrolled in this course will also learn about the nature of cybercrime, methods of investigating cybercrime, securing the crime scene, and collecting evidence of cybercrime. Students will explore the challenges involved with international cooperation in pursuing cybercrime offenders, and problems of enforcement between different international legal systems. Prer., Graduate students only.
