The CJ Profession

Catalog description

The criminal justice profession encompasses a broad range of careers including roles in law enforcement, courts/law, corrections, victim advocacy/services, forensics, crime analysis, national security, and many other critical public service functions. This course will examine the competencies, demands, hiring process standards, and necessary professional traits, ethics, and responsibilities that apply to students interested in pursuing criminal justice careers. Faculty and current practitioners in the field will help students prepare for their internship requirement and ultimately for employment upon graduation. Students will gain a deeper understanding of the criminal justice profession and the preparation required to be successful in any organization. Prer., Sophomore Standing.
