Beginning Navajo II

Catalog description

Four lecture. Further emphasis on basic grammar, vocabulary, and culture. Practice in speaking, reading, and writing Navajo. Students will be able to: interpret written Navajo from texts that are linguistically non-complex; create statements or questions in writing within the scope of limited language experience; initiate and respond verbally to uncomplicated, basic communicative tasks and social situations; demonstrate comprehension of sentence-length statements or questions in a limited number of content areas; express basic needs in the spoken and written language; recognize non-verbal cultural norms; describe the cultural practices and characteristics of the areas where Navajo is spoken. Prerequisite(s): NAV 101 General Education: Written and Oral Communication: Communication and Languages Grading Option: May be taken for S/U credit.
