Catalog description

Two lab. Studies military leadership through practical application and challenging outdoor activities. Includes training in troop leading organizational procedures, how to prepare operation orders, how to perform basic tactical exercises, and how to prepare and give classes in an outdoor environment in preparation for the Advanced Army ROTC Program and commissioning as an officer in the United States Army, Arizona National Guard, or United States Army Reserves. Students will be able to: identify components of small unit leadership; practice small unit tactics; demonstrate knowledge of basic first aid; demonstrate knowledge of land navigation; demonstrate how to communicate with Army systems and terminology; demonstrate how to wear a uniform, perform basic facing movements and march; and list the components of an operations order. Corequisite(s): MSC 101 and MSC 150 or Department Consent.
