One lecture. This course is an introduction to problem solving, decision-making, leadership and helps students become more effective leaders and managers, whether they serve in the military or become leaders in civilian life. Topics addressed include problem solving and methods, critical thinking, leadership theory, followership, group cohesion, goal setting, and feedback mechanisms. Students will be able to: describe the problem solving process; describe the critical thinking process; describe the troop leading procedures; define leadership; assess leadership as it relates to: power and influence, personality, followership, and group cohesion; and develop goal-setting skills.
