Catalog description

Three lecture. 0 Students will examine finance, growth, probability, statistics, and common applications encountered in society. Students will be able to: solve finance problems including loans, amortization, investments; model data using linear, exponential, and/or other functions; utilize probability theory to solve applied probability problems; calculate, display and interpret measures of central tendency, variability and position; evaluate the reasonableness of an answer; demonstrate fluency with formula; and solve problems involving optional topics. Prerequisite(s): MAT 091 or placement into MAT 142. General Education: Quantitative Reasoning Grading Option: Letter Grade Only
