Catalog description
Four lecture. Designed to teach sound wildland fire observations and origin scene protection, provide knowledge and skills to design, set-up, operate, troubleshoot, and shut down portable water delivery systems. Course also covers aircraft types, capabilities, aviation management and safety for flying in and working with agency aircraft, tactical, and logistical uses of aircraft, and requirements for helicopter takeoff and landing areas. Covers materials from FI-110, S-211, S-270 Students will be able to: list various causes of wildland fires and their cause indicators; perform the basic procedures and techniques needed to provide witness/observer information to fire investigators; identify and protect wildland fire origin areas; demonstrate knowledge and skills to design, set-up, operate, troubleshoot and shut down portable water delivery systems; identify aircraft types and capabilities; identify aviation management and safety for flying in and working with agency aircraft; identify tactical and logistical uses of aircraft, and requirements for helicopter takeoff and landing areas.
