2 0 In this course, students will complete the basic wildland firefighting courses offered by the National Wildfire Coordinating Group. These courses include Firefighting Training (S-130), Introduction to Wildland Fire Behavior (S-190), Human Factors in the Wildland Fire Service (L-180), An Introduction to the National Incident Management System (IS-700.B), and Introduction to the Incident Command System (IS-100.C). Students will be able to: 1. Describe the basics of fire fighting in the wildland. 2. Describe LCES and the standard firefighting orders. 3. Explain the fire triangle and the fire environment triangle. 4. Predict fire behavior based on an analysis of weather patterns. 5. Identify extreme fire behavior conditions and its causes. 6. Interpret the chain of command in the Incident Command System. 7. Explain NIMS characteristics and their importance. 8. Acquire all necessary certificates that complete the basic wildland firefighting training through the National Wildfire Coordinating Group (NWCG).
