Creative Writing: Poetry

Catalog description

Three lecture. Extensive practice in writing and revising poetry, with emphasis on critical analysis of published models and students’ poems. Students will be able to: analyze and evaluate poetic works; identify techniques used in writing poetry; apply these techniques in their own work; critique their own work, as well as work of peers; examine marketing strategies and identify markets for their work; assemble portfolio of revised writing. Prerequisite(s): ENG 101 Grading Option: May be taken for S/U credit.
