Catalog description
Extensive practice in writing and revising fiction with emphasis on critical and cultural analysis of published models and students’ work. Students will be able to: analyze and evaluate fictional works; identify and apply fiction techniques in their own stories; identify and apply techniques used in writing fiction to their own stories; critique their own work and the work of others; examine marketing strategies and identify markets for their work; create their own final portfolio with a thematic emphasis that includes revised and edited stories or novel excerpt and a critical introduction/reflection. Pre/Corequisite(s): ENG 102 . General Education: Written and Oral Communication: Communication and Languages Grading Option: May be taken for S/U credit.
