Catalog description

Three lecture. Basic principles of macroeconomics designed to acquaint the student with workings of the national economy: market economy, national income accounting, fiscal and monetary policy, and the Federal Reserve System. Students will be able to: define economic vocabulary; examine and explain the structure of the American economic system; analyze how economic cycles influence growth and development; examine and explain the national income accounting system; analyze the impact which fiscal/monetary policy has had on business growth and development within the U.S.A.; explain and summarize how the federal reserve system functions; and discuss explain the comparative advantage and international trade.
