Catalog description

Three lecture. Safety principles of building construction under the Uniform Building Code, including structural requirements for wood, masonry, fire resistant materials and ratings, and occupancy requirements. Students will be able to: history and development of building codes and reasons for their necessity; develop a better understanding of the building code, the terminology and language contained therein; develop skill and efficiency in the use of the code and procedures necessary for its application.
