3 Lecture. 0 An introduction to essential theories of human communication and how they work in various settings, including interpersonal, social influence, group and organizational, mass communication, and cultural contexts. Students will be able to: Recognize and analyze the influence of messages in a wide variety of personal and professional situations. Describe significant communication theories. Explain different approaches to communication theory and their relevance in varied contexts. Apply communication theories to real-life situations to accomplish personal and professional communicative goals. Articulate concepts of communication theories in mediated and non-mediated messages.
