Catalog description

Four lecture. This is the first of a two-course series (CIS161 and CIS171) designed to provide students with a working knowledge of Linux. This course is aligned with the CompTIA Linux+ certification. Students will be able to: explain boot processes; manage linux storage; install system and other software; install and manage a sql database; manage users and groups; create, modify, and redirect files; explain server roles and the use of linux devices; manage security in a linux environment.
