Catalog description

One lecture. Five lab. Introductory course in drawing and painting techniques and materials for students who would like to explore their creativity. Students will be able to: identify and describe basic drawing and painting materials, the substance from which they are made and their best uses; utilize the language of art and vision, form and content, the visual elements, and principles of design in discussing their own work as well as the work of other artists; demonstrate elementary drawing skills through class and homework projects; and demonstrate elementary painting skills through class and homework projects. Grading Option: May be taken for S/U credit.
