Catalog description

Three lecture. Deviance and society’s role in defining behavior; theories of criminality and the economic, social, and psychological impact of crime and victimization; relationships between statistics and crime trends. Students will be able to: demonstrate by their scores on written assignments and exams, mastery of the basic business skills necessary to perform the following: problem solving techniques; instruction interpretation; understanding of criminal justice vocabulary; explain the concepts of crime, law, and criminology; explain the theories of crime causation; describe the nature of economic crimes and how those crimes affect the national interests.
