Three lecture. Fundamentals of criminal investigation. Examines theory of criminal investigation, crime scene procedures, case preparation, basic and advanced interviewing techniques, and basic investigative techniques. Students will be able to: demonstrate by their scores on written assignments and exams, mastery of the basic business skills necessary to perform the following: problem solving techniques; instruction interpretation; understanding of criminal justice vocabulary; explain the structure of the criminal investigative process; how the AJS system develop classification of crimes according to crime scene evidence; describe the management and organizational processes which affect criminal investigative concerns.
