Medical Assisting Externship

Catalog description

Twelve Lab. Practical learning experience that apply academic education to on-the-job situations. This course replaces previously arranged individual externships. This course requires completion of 180 hours of off-site training in a healthcare facility. The instructor will assign students to the facility. Students will be able to: apply office management skills to perform daily medical office tasks; apply clinical skills to a medical office; display professional behavior in a medical setting. Prerequisite(s): Consent of instructor required.
