Three lecture. Medical vocabulary for beginning students in allied health and science fields. Includes word roots, prefixes, suffixes, and abbreviations. Emphasizes spelling, pronunciation, and definition. Students will be able to: differentiate prefixes, suffixes, word roots, and combining forms; define a list of medical terms; build and define medical terms using word building rules and word elements; pronounce medical terms correctly; spell medical terms correctly. Prerequisite(s): ENG 098, or placement into ENG 101/101A.
