Electromechanical Devices

Catalog description

This course introduces electromechanical devices which are essential control elements in electrical systems. Topics include fundamentals of electromechanical devices, control elements in electrical circuits, typical devices such as generators and alternators, D.C. and A.C. motors and controls, and transformers. Quantitative analysis of power losses, power factors, and efficiencies in D.C., single-phase and three-phase dynamos are stressed. Laboratory work parallels classwork.
