Feminist Theories
Coastal Carolina University · UGRD · Fall 2026
1 section
Catalog description
The goal of this course is not only to critically examine the great variety of feminist theories, but also to encourage students to theorize their own understanding of the world. This course is organized around a careful investigation (and often interrogation) of key debates within Women’s and Gender Studies. Central to this course is the idea that understanding the world and understanding significant categories such as race, class, gender, sexuality, and nationality are interpretive, theoretical, and political acts. Semester(s) Offered: Fall, Spring
