Catalog description
This course brings into conversation perspectives from literature and rhetorical studies, performance studies, and women’s and gender studies to cultivate intercultural resilience and alternative methods for meaning-making. Students use community-based storytelling practices and embodiment work, along with critical literacy skills, such as reflection and close-reading to complicate what counts as knowledge, who gets to create ways of knowing, and how performance and writing can be used collaboratively to share stories across different platforms.
