Students will examine the social, economic, and political factors that shape the health of individuals, groups, and communities. A key focus will be on patterns of inequity in health, including an exploration of the way social class, gender, race/ethnicity, age, and sexual orientation influence health-related behaviors and impact access to quality health care.
