This course introduces students to the critical study of social media and platform culture, providing analytical tools to examine the social and cultural dimensions of social media platforms. As a Social Media Foundations course, it equips students with key concepts and frameworks to examine how platforms shape identity, influence public discourse, commodify attention, and govern user behavior.
